  • Laing+Simmons held their 2021 Springboard event at Luna Park
  • Adapting to change in a COVID world was a key feature of guest speaker talks
  • New technology and its impact on real estate was another key topic discussed

New South Wales-based real estate agency Laing+Simmons recently held their Springboard event, the group’s first and most important gathering of the year.

The theme this year was Real Change Real Opportunity, in line with the network being recently purchased by 15 Laing+Simmons team members. It includes some of the network’s longest-serving and highest-profile principals including D’Leanne Lewis, Ray Fayad, and Nicholas Efrossynis alongside Managing Director Leanne Pilkington (who also currently serves as the President of the Real Estate Institute of NSW).

Springboard 2021 was held at Luna Park and saw 150 socially-distanced Laing+Simmons team members come together from across metropolitan and regional NSW to hear from high-profile guest speakers who provided interesting perspectives on real estate in a COVID world.

Guest speakers included Cathy Baker from Belle Property, Georgi Bates from Cunninghams, real estate coach Michael Sheargold, marketing specialist Immy Callister, Stuart Benson of Benson Auctions, and Peter Matthews of Realtair.

“It’s an important free event for Laing+Simmons principals and their teams to provide them new tools, new ideas, a detailed understanding of the current market, new perspectives on the current operating environment for agents, and new motivation for the year ahead,” said Ms Pilkington.

Understandably, the industry is also focused on how new technology will impact on business. However, Ms Pilkington said the speakers reinforced the importance of engaging in the community and putting the customer at the centre, against the backdrop of new and emerging technology.

“It’s clear that new technology won’t make agents redundant. However, agents that use technology to enhance the value they provide to their customers will make those agents that don’t do likewise redundant,” Ms Pilkington said.

“We thank all our guest speakers and attendees at this year’s Laing+Simmons Springboard 2021 and look forward to making next year’s event bigger and better again.”
