Pantone’s colour experts have combed the world once more in search of new colour influences to discover the colour that will reign over 2022. Said to encapsulate the current global mood, Very Peri has been selected as the colour of the year.
Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, explains that Very Peri reflects what is taking place in our global culture.
Ms Pressman believes society is continuing to recognise colour as a “critical form of communication.
“The complexity of this new red-violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us.”

The Pantone Colour of the Year has been known to have an influence in many levels of global culture from fashion runways to interior design.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute, clarifies the essence of Very Peri.
“As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue colour family, encompassing the qualities of the blues.
“Yet at the same time with its violet red undertone, Very Peri displays a spritely joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expressions,” he said.

This is the 23rd annual announcement of Pantone’s Colour of the Year. The 2021 colours were Ultimate Grey and Illuminating.
