The Monaco is anticipated to soon boast perhaps the Gold Coast’s most impressive kitchen. Helene Omeros and Charles Millard have purchased a whole floor residence in the luxury apartment building, citing the ability to install a personalised kitchen as a unique and compelling attraction.

Ms Omeros’ family run the famous Omeros Brothers Seafood Restaurant at Marina Mirage in Main Beach.

Ms Omeros explained that her family spend a lot of time cooking and eating together, in fact, “…cooking runs in [their] veins,” making the ideal kitchen especially important to them.

Ms Omeros and Mr Millard and not alone in being enticed by the customisable kitchen, Andrew Erwin, of NPA Projects, said it was a key drawcard for people buying in The Monaco.

“People love working with our concierge team and the kitchen designers to design the kitchen they’ve always wanted but until now been unable to have in an apartment,”

The planned kitchen renovation is not your average. It is set to include multiple include gas cooktops, two fridges and two oversized ovens. To top it off the heart of the home will of course feature a generous butler’s pantry.

Mr Millard explained that it is important to them that the kitchen is designed beyond the practicalities of merely cooking but also entertaining.

“The kitchen is always the focal point of entertaining at least for the first hour after
guests arrive,” he said.

“We find it works best if the ovens and cooktop are built into the island bench facing
the living area so that way the entertaining flows perfectly.”

Mr Millar said that this allows you to chat while cooking because after all “…you are part of the entertaining while cooking.”

Ms Omeros said she will be sure to consult the family expertise before going ahead with the refit.

“The beauty of it is at the end of the day once the design is finished, we get to run it
past the chefs of the family for their advice – that’s not something many people can
do.”

Beyond the opportunity to design their dream kitchen, the couple were attracted by the stunning views of the Broadwater estuary and the ocean as well as the great location.

“I’ve lived in Main Beach for six years and it has definitely grown on me, and my husband, who has been in Main Beach for over 18 years. It will be even better when we move into The Monaco,” said Ms Omeros.

“The Monaco is also close enough to walk to my job at the family restaurant,” she
said.
