  • 100+ inquiries post-Christmas
  • 80 per cent of the $33 million estate is sold out

After more than 100 inquiries during the peak holiday break just after Christmas, land sales at The Gallery, an exclusive 46-lot land estate at Hope Island, saw a rush that resulted in more than $4 million of secure sales in just two weeks.

These sales have now made the $33 million estate 80 per cent sold out.

The majority of inquires came from interstate, especially Sydney, many of whom are attracted to the golf and waterfront lifestyle the North Shore precinct at Hope Island brings.

Ultimately, however, local buyers led the way for the recent surge in sales with developer GH Australia securing six sales totalling $4.193 million over a single fortnight. The buyers were all from south-east Queensland.

Now only 10 lots of the estate remain.

Tony Hymus, The Gallery’s sales and marketing consultant, says that while strong interest was expected during the holiday season, especially after the Queensland border was reopened in December, this amount wasn’t expected.

“The interstate interest really created a level of urgency among local buyers who didn’t want to get beaten to the punch,” said Mr Hymus.

“Demand was so strong that some people, unfortunately, missed out on the lot they wanted, and we even had one buyer willing to offer more than the list price to secure a site.”

The buyers came from a range of backgrounds including sea-changers, young families and downsizers.

One buyer was Callum Mitchener of Brisbane who purchased lot 43 for his young family.

“We knew it would be a beautiful spot to raise a family, there are places to run and the greenery really drew us in,” said Mr Mitchener.

“Our house is half way through construction and it’s the perfect area to envision the family at long term as well as being just a buggy ride away from a range of different food venues.”

Prices for lots at The Gallery start from $720,000 for 597 sqm to over $1 million for 873sqm.

The Gallery is expecting its first residents to move in from April.
