Developer Fortis has lodged plans with the Waverley Council for its new development on 122 – 128 Hewlett St in Bronte.

The 2,472 sqm site at 122-128 Hewlett St in Bronte was acquired by Fortis for $44 million earlier this year, and comes as demand for luxury housing in Sydney’s east remains high.

Construction is expected to commence in mid-2023, once plans are approved. Upon completion, the project will be valued at $125 million, and will house 10 homes.

The residences themselves will modelled on Fortis’ approach to boutique apartments, with architecture by MHN Design Union and interior design by Alexander and Co and Lawless & Meyerson.

The proposed project will also showcase a range of architectural facades including custom brickwork and European lime renders and screening.

“Fortis has carved a reputation for itself over the years for premium residential developments in blue-chip locations across Sydney and Melbourne. We are excited to be utilising our considered approach to develop luxury houses that offer an enviable combination of location, amenity and quality,” says Charles Mellick, Director, Fortis.

“This will be the first collection of houses by Fortis, making this project a notable milestone for us.

“With an expected end value of $125 million, we are investing in the future of the luxury residential coastal market in Sydney that continues to remain buoyant.

“We look forward to working collaboratively with the community to deliver a superior product in a desirable location.”

The homes will feature three or four bedrooms, four bathrooms and basement parking and offer open-plan living and dining areas, which will open onto north-facing private pools and gardens designed by Wyer & Co. There will be views of Bronte Beach from the upper levels.

A well known coastal suburb, Bronte is eight kilometres east of the Sydney CBD. Fortis’s site is less than 200 metres from the famous beach.

Fortis, whose parent company is the Pallas Group, currently has a $4 billion pipeline across Australia.
