  • 55 luxury residences will be on offer for over-55s
  • Residents could expect to move in late this year or early next year
  • Sales to begin on 12 February

Located on the premise of Waverley Bowling Club, 55 newly developed luxury residences are set to hit the market on 12 February.

The redevelopment is the outcome of an agreement signed a year ago between hospitality company Easts Group and developers Mirvac Group.

The new homes will be offered to those in the over 55s demographic.

Mirvac General Manager of Residential Development NSW Toby Long highlights the rarity of new apartments in the eastern beachside suburbs of Sydney.

“Even before COVID intensified demand for lifestyle properties, there was very little stock available in the Eastern Suburbs, close to some of the world’s most recognised beaches,” said Mr Long.

“The redevelopment of the Waverley Bowling Club is a rare opportunity to address this shortage and deliver quality new homes that meet the rising demand for real estate that integrates health and wellness facilities.”

In addition to four residential buildings, the redevelopment will also produce two bowling greens and a contemporary indoor-outdoor restaurant, bar and
café.

These are to be completed in time for the Waverley Bowling Club’s 130th anniversary in 2023.

The former clubhouse will be preserved and repurposed as a luxury wellness centre that will include a 20-metre indoor lap pool, treatment and steam rooms along with a gym and a yoga space.

The club is located approximately one kilometre from Tamarama Beach and two from Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

The residential offerings each include their own balcony and are spread across buildings three to six storeys high.

Offering Size Approx. Internal Space Approx. External Space
One bedroom 74 sqm 12 sqm
Two bedrooms 107 sqm 15 sqm
Three bedrooms 124 sqm 15 sqm
Penthouses 135 sqm 15 sqm

Residents will be able to enjoy exclusive facilities such as the wellness centre, landscaped private gardens and a landscaped rooftop featuring outdoor cooking, dining and lounge spaces, with spectacular views of the coastline from Bondi to Bronte and beyond.

Mr Long hopes the opportunities for socialising will add to the appeal of The Langlee by Mirvac.

“Two years of lockdowns have heightened awareness of the importance of social interaction to mental and physical health,” said Mr Long.

“Having the bowling greens reinstated and a niche hospitality venue which residents can treat like their local, and a regular spot for meeting with and entertaining friends and family, is a great way to remain involved with the wider community.

While sales for the residence will open to the public this weekend, Easts Group members have had an exclusive purchasing opportunity since early November.

Mr Long has said the majority of inquiries so far have been from long-time Eastern Suburbs residents.

“They value the outdoor beach lifestyle that they have enjoyed for many years and The Langlee gives them a great way to continue to stay in touch with their social networks while swapping a high maintenance house and yard for an easier to care for and more luxurious lifestyle.
