July has been one of the more tumultuous months this year, with most of the country again locked down.

However, the real estate market remained productive, two big buys and a listing were reported by Savills, including a hotel, and two residential development opportunities.

Beaconsfield, Victoria

13-15 Mahon Street is a 6,849 square metre site in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. The site is approved for 10 townhouses in the first stage, and potentially six more down the track.

According to Savills, the property was sold on a unit rate of $147,059.

If you’re looking to buy, SQM Research shows asking prices are floating around the high $600,000’s.

If you’re looking for something a bit closer to Melbourne’s CBD, a residential developer recently snapped up 20 Lower Heidelberg Road.

The parcel of land is located at a corner and Savills said both owner-occupiers and child care groups showed interest in the property. Ultimately, a residential developer paid $3,557,000 for the property, Savills said the site will likely become a luxury boutique residential project.

Queensland hotel

A north Queensland hotel has hit the market, located in Home Hill, just over an hour south of Townsville.

Malpass Hotel, at 145-151 Bruce Highway, Home Hill, features a bar, dining area, drive-through bottle shop, and a 13 room hotel.

Savills said the property is for sale by way of Private Treaty and has a mixed zoning of “Retail & Commercial and Residential” as per the Burdekin Shire Council Integrated Planning Act (IPA) Planning Scheme.
