- Over 500 attended the regional homebuilder expo
- Event was officially opened by Don Punch, Member for Bunbury
- Queues formed before the official opening of the event
The South West Home Builders Expo 2022 was recently held in Bunbury, with the event drawing a strong crowd despite wider concerns about rising interest rates and an ongoing slew of wider industry concerns; the RBA increased interest rates by 150 basis points since last year’s expo.
The expo was attended by over 500 people, with Builderz WA General Manager Cullum Ashton, whom organised the event, telling The Property Tribune that hundreds began queuing before the event kicked off:
“People started arriving at 9:15 am, before the official opening, to try and secure stall holders’ best offers and not to miss out on titled land, which just shows demand for new homes is still high,” said Mr Ashton.
The event featured over twenty stalls, featuring the full gamut of what a new homeowner would need, from finance to land, through to building, renovating, and other suppliers.
Regional appeal has been growing steadily, with the pandemic putting that growth into overdrive.
One Bunbury local told DRN1 Radio, “Bunbury is a great place to work and live. Since moving down here 20 years ago, I have seen more and more people choosing the South West to live and raise a family.”
Bunbury’s popularity is not just confined to owners and prospective buyers, industry also looks fondly on the South West:
“The City of Bunbury is a popular choice for builders to operate from and still has plenty of land available for people to choose from,” said Dalyellup Estate Manager Richard Cull.
Having had a resounding second year of success, Mr Ashton hopes the event will continue to grow:
“I believe the South West Home Builders Expo will grow into the annual event the local industry needs and wants,” said Mr Ashton.
