This morning, Brookfield Properties held the topping-out ceremony for its One The Esplanade property in Perth.

Located by Elizabeth Quay, with enviable views of the river, the $880 million development is constructed by Multiplex and has been designed by Hassell.

One The Esplanade includes 54,265 square metres of net lettable office area, with retail and ancillary NLA 1,917 square metres. All this is set across 29 storeys, and will be a PCA Premium Grade office tower.

Topping out

A brilliant blue sky was the backdrop to the ceremony, where Regional Director, Development and Property, at Brookfield Properties Nick Ozich said: “We are delighted to be contributing to the city’s continued evolution while supporting the WA Government’s world class vision for Elizabeth Quay as a place to work, live and visit.

One The Esplanade will be anchored by Chevron, with Herbert Smith Freehills also among the key tenants to call One The Esplanade their headquarters in early 2023 when the building opens.

Mr Ozich also noted the building is 85% leased and continues to see strong interest in the remaining available office space.

Sustainability was one of the key messages, Mr Ozich said, “With sustainability deeply etched into our development psyche, One The Esplanade will stand among Perth’s most advanced and sustainable commercial buildings. The building is targeting 6 star Green Star, a minimum 5 star NABERS energy rating and an IWBI WELL Core Gold Certification.”

During the speeches, Multiplex Regional Managing Director WA Chris Palandri noted that construction was ahead of schedule, despite the headwinds of Covid and global supply chain issues.

The building has now seen over 5000 tonnes of steel installed, 39,800 cubic metres of concrete poured, and over 1.1 million hours have been put into the project.

One The Esplanade is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023.
