- Insight Data Solutions (IDS) will roll out the VM Online platform
- VM Online is currently being used by the State of Victoria and by Adelaide City Council
Insight Data Solutions Government Services (IDS), part of the Domain Group, has been awarded a contract with the Western Australian Land Information Authority (Landgate) which values all properties in Western Australia.
Landgate is replacing its legacy valuation system with IDS ‘VM Online’, a computer-assisted mass valuation platform that will enable the Valuer-General to produce the statutory valuations that underpin council rates, land tax, and various other State government charges and levies.
Expanding into WA
Yunyeong Kim, Domain’s Executive General Manager of Domain Insight, said VM Online, “is setting the standard for valuation authorities to produce fair, consistent and cost-effective valuations for use by rating and taxing authorities.”
“Over the last 24 months, Domain has been undergoing a significant evolution which is allowing us to play a greater role in the property journey for a wider range of customers. After demonstrated success in Victoria and Adelaide, we are extremely confident the platform will help improve service delivery. “
“Through Insight Data Solutions, we’re not only using technology to drive efficiency and transparency around land valuations, we’re leveraging new digital capabilities that will minimise bottlenecks and create process efficiencies in delivering valuations.”
Increasing usage
Following an 18-month configuration and deployment phase, the IDS platform will provide a single, seamless solution for the operations of the Valuer-General of Western Australia.
The platform is currently being utilised by more than 250 valuers and 800 councils and Valuer-General staff in Victoria, and by Adelaide City Council in South Australia, to manage the annual statutory valuation cycles.
IDS, which specialises in government and corporate real estate, has been part of the Domain Insight business unit since Domain acquired the business in late 2021.
