  • Nearly three times the amount of enquiries for the 300-lot land

  • First homebuyers make up 82% of sales, many from neighbouring suburbs

In a sign that the Perth property market is not exactly slowing down, Cedar Wood’s Solaris private estate in Forrestdale has received more than 800 registrations of interest.

The 300-lot 29-hectare estate is surrounded by bushland, and is looking to welcome its first families later this year. The third release of blocks range from 305 to 505 sqm. House and land packages are on offer from $422,100.

The suburb of Forrestdale lies around 30 kilometres south east of the Perth CBD, and is named after WA’s first premier, John Forrest.

According to REIWA, its median house price is $435,000 and the local population is just over a thousand (2011 census). Forrestdale Lake is a natural reserve that attracts native waterbirds, and contains the only known remaining habitat of a critically endangered bee.

Proving popular with local first home buyers from nearby Canning Vale and Harrisdale areas, sales have been supported by the federal and state government’s various stimulus packages over the past year.

Contributing to 82% of the estate’s sales, first homebuyers and upgraders (17%) are the driving force behind the sales surge.

Estate Sales Manager, Anna-Maria Pilling says she is thrilled with the initial success of Solaris.

Recently, Solaris hosted a purchaser event, where future residents were invited to meet and mingle with their soon-to-be neighbours and explore their new community.

Once built, almost 50% of Solaris homes will be facing open spaces including pocket parks and natural bushland, promising a new life nestled amongst nature. One of Solaris’ first residents John Macaldo said he finds this incredibly valuable.

“I like to get outdoors and explore, so having Solaris surround by a nature reserve is amazing. Cedar Woods has been a huge support, they’ve been really great at communication, keeping me updated on all the progress going on around the community,” he said.

Further engaging the local community, Solaris hosted a competition for local kids to create bright and colourful ‘sold’ stickers as well as sponsoring the local football club, the Forrestdale Falcons.
