After four months, the Gold Coast City Council has approved a $200 million 35-level residential project from Sammut Group, a Sydney-based developer.
“This is definitely the quickest and most seamless approval I have received in my career, and the Gold Coast council should be applauded for its professionalism and vision which is great for the local economy,” said developer Allen Sammut.
The vision for the oceanfront development will see a collection of 49 luxury residences between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
$110 million in conditional sales were secured within three weeks of its development application being lodged, with apartment sales ranging from $3.5 million to $9 million.
Sammut’s Coast collection of residences will include:
- 36 half-floor villas
- 2 double-story sky homes
- 10 full-floor sub penthouses
- A penthouse spanning 3 levels, offering 1000 square metres of luxury living and featuring a private rooftop pool and amenities.
Gold Coast City councils officers said, “(Sammut’s development) delivers a high-quality architectural form and high dwelling density that is a catalyst for the transformation of the city into a highly-connected, compact city with vibrant centres, specialist precinct and urban renewal corridors.”
Mr Sammut said, “Coast was code compliant with the town plan, but special credit should be given to the Gold Coast Council and the local councillor Darren Taylor for recognising how much this project will enhance the Garfield Terrace precinct.”
The development will be done in partnership with Alceon Group, and jointly marketed by Highland Property Group and Harcourts Coastal Gold Coast.
Date for construction commencement is to be confirmed.
Sammut has already experienced success with their award-winning projects completed in the beachside Cronulla, south of Sydney.
Sammut’s current workbook also includes a $350 million mixed-use urban renewal project, which includes a boutique commercial and hospitality precinct known as PARC, and a co-working structure and two-floor hospitality venue.
