  • 2682 listed for rent, 646 rented

Data released by REIWA has shown there was a slight decrease in sales activity in Perth last week of four per cent. Most likely the snap five-day Covid-19 lockdown endured by Perth last week had an impact on this decline

As of the week ending the 7th February, there was a five per cent decline in house sales and a 20 per cent decline in unit sales.

In contrast, however, it should be noted that there was a 36 per cent increase in vacant land sales.

7,666 properties were listed for sale in Perth last week with 3,522 of these being for houses. This represents listings 39 per cent lower than this time last year.

792 property sales occurred last week with 554 being houses, 139 units and a further 99 land sales. Scarborough was the top-selling suburb with 15 sales closely followed by Baldivis with 13. The next most popular suburbs varied with Southern River at nine and Morley, Mosman Park, Como and Fremantle all having eight sales each.

2682 rentals were listed last week with the top four listings all being literally Perth suburbs – Perth had 138, East Perth 130 then West and South Perth with 66 each.   This compares to 5795 listings the same week last year reflecting the tightness of the Perth rental market.

646 properties were rented out last week; 353 houses and 293 units.

Unsurprisingly, Perth and East Perth were the most leased suburbs followed by Como and Rivervale.

Como is the star of this week; the leafy southern suburb is the only one featured in both the most sold and most rented lists this week.
