  • This year's Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROS) are set to go ahead
  • This is after a missed year due to the pandemic
  • Aspiring auctioneers are encouraged to participate in their local competition in order to compete

After the last year’s competition was derailed along with many events in 2020, the auctioneers of Australia and New Zealand will finally contend once more for the prestigious Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROS).

REIA President, Mr Adrian Kelly welcomed the news saying the ASTROS is back and better than ever.

“After the sad but necessary decision to forgo AUSTROS in 2020  and following an exceptional start to 2021, the news has reinvigorated the industry. “

“There have been mass take-ups of virtual auctions through an explosion in auction clearance rates, so we would expect these skills to make this year’s AUSTROS the most competitive yet,” Mr Kelly said.

Chair of the AUSTROS Steering Group and Chief Judge, Mr Thomas McGlynn, said both country’s property markets have seen unprecedented sales results.

“Auctioneers have been very much a part of this sucess story so we look forward to seeing how the hammer falls at AUSTROS 2021.”

“AUSTROS has been running since 1991 and recognises the best of the best in Australasia’s property auctioneers.”

Aspiring Australian auctioneers are being encouraged to participate in their local competition to get the chance to compete in AUSTROS 2021.

This year’s event will be held in Sydney from 17 – 19 October 2021.
