  • Event to include Japanese cultural experiences
  • Will run between 23 July and 8 August

The Australian Olympic Committee recently announced it selected Brookfield Place Perth as one of a limited number of selected sites in Australia to host Olympics Live.

Playing host to a giant screen broadcasting the games, Olympics Live also includes a number of other opportunities for everyone to get in on the festivities and Japanese culture.

Businesses and office workers in the CBD will likely welcome the initiative, with CBD occupancy figures for Perth still mediocre.

“At a time when the world feels disconnected, this is a great opportunity for the people of Perth, our tenants and visitors to share in the unique spirit of the Olympics in the heart of the CBD.”

Alison Beamish, State Manager – Operations for Brookfield Properties

Olympians are expected to make an appearance at Brookfield for a meet and greet, visitors will also be able to try their hand at some Olympic sports.

It will also give fans an opportunity to barrack for Australia from afar, as travel remains practically impossible.

“Really happy that my family and friends have a place to go to cheer us all on,”

Brianna Throssell, WA Olympian

The games will take place between 23 July and 8 August, Sydney will be hosting Olympics Live at The Rocks and Sydney Olympic Park, and Brisbane at South Bank; other locations to be confirmed.
