- 2025 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) now open, with expanded categories.
- Melbourne and Brisbane host launch events highlighting urban growth.
- Winners to be announced in Sydney and compete at the Grand Final in Bangkok.
Australia’s thriving real estate market is once again set to take centre stage on the international circuit, with the official launch of the 8th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia).
With award entries closing on July 18, and the Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony held in Sydney on September 19, this year’s programme marks a pivotal moment to recognise the innovation driving Australia’s next generation of property development.
Backed by an expanded list of categories, the 2025 edition offers a timely reflection of Australia’s dynamic property growth, from inner-city reinvention to suburban surges and cross-border investment momentum.
Unveiled in Melbourne earlier this month, the Awards were launched at Asia Connect: Melbourne, where civic leaders, industry veterans and international guests gathered to explore Australia’s evolving place in the Asian property landscape.
This year, Brisbane has also been added to the event roster, a nod to the city’s surging infrastructure pipeline and pre-Olympic transformation.
Melbourne’s blueprint for the future
Addressing the audience at Melbourne’s launch event, Deputy Lord Mayor, Roshena Campbell, delivered a forward-facing message grounded in Melbourne’s design-led development philosophy.
“The City of Melbourne is backing quality development like never before”, Deputy Lord Mayor Campbell said, “and we welcome bold, visionary minds to help shape the future of our city.
She added, “Melbourne is built on smart design that reflects our unique identity. But great design is more than good looks.”
“Every building can lift our quality of life, attract investment, and deliver better housing. Our Design Excellence Program and Design Review Panel help make that happen.”

It’s a timely sentiment, especially as Australia faces one of the tightest housing supply conditions in recent memory.
Melbourne, now Australia’s fastest-growing city, is rapidly evolving into a case study in how smart design and policy can respond to shifting population and lifestyle demands.
Brisbane enters the frame
For the first time in the Awards’ history, Asia Connect: Brisbane was held as a complementary launch event, positioning Queensland’s capital as a rising star on the property map.
General Manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, Jules Kay, comments, “Alongside Melbourne and Sydney, Brisbane is a worthy addition to our event schedule this year, as Australia’s property market continues to diversify with impressive growth beyond traditional urban hubs.”

“We look forward to celebrating the ingenuity and innovation of developers from all key property destinations at our domestic and international galas later this year.”

With the 2032 Olympics acting as a development catalyst, Brisbane is attracting national attention and investor interest for the scale and speed of its transformation.
Held at HLB’s Brisbane CBD headquarters on April 11, the Brisbane panel unpacked everything from interstate migration trends to tax implications for developers and investors.
Speakers included industry leaders and experts in property and business advisory, all of whom agreed: Brisbane’s boom is just beginning.
A celebration of innovation, sustainability, and excellence
More than a black-tie gala, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) serves as a benchmark for the kind of excellence that defines modern real estate.
Chairperson of the judges, PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia), Ivan Lam, declares, “We proudly launch our awards’ eighth edition amid Australia’s suburban growth, driven by demand for residences beyond city centres, especially from buyers undeterred by market shifts.”
“With new categories this year, we honour developers who have agilely adapted to market shifts, delivering designs and masterplans that meet the needs of diverse property seekers in Australia. With economic stability improving and pressures easing, we are optimistic about long-term investment in Australia’s property market.”
