Averna Homes’ Applecross design, awarded Perth Home of the Year, has now been formally announced as the 2021 Housing Industry Association (HIA) CSR Western Australian Home of the Year.
HIA WA executive director Cath Hart said the home’s level of innovation immediately caught the judges attention, along with the level of care in tailoring the design to suit the client’s brief.
“The judges applauded the way this home was perfectly designed for the site, with its corner aspect overlooking the Swan River, and praised the use of natural colours, textures and materials to create sophistication in what is a spacious family home.
“This praise extended further, with the judges impressed with the immaculate finishes across the outdoor area – every detail was considered in the design – even down to the inclusion of hydronic underfloor heating throughout the home and the alfresco area.”
The project also won Custom Built Home of the Year and Residential Building Designer of the Year.
Ms Hart said, “All winners and finalists across the State have showcased their ability to deliver the highest quality homes for clients, despite ongoing challenges around labour, materials, and shipping delays.”
