- A development on the outskirts of Sydney has reached its highest point at 110 metre

A Sydney development, The Hoxton, has reached a new milestone as the building reaches what will be its highest point. The site had been dormant for close to two decades before this project commenced.
The Australian-owned development firm ALAND purchased the site 18 months ago from another developer, original works ceased in 2002.
The project located in Liverpool on the outskirts of Sydney will see 300 luxury apartments enter the market, although 98% have already sold off the plan. They will be spread across three buildings with the tallest of them reaching 32 storeys.
ALAND chief executive George Tadrosse believes the company has made remarkable progress.
“This site has been a huge hole in the ground in a prominent location for two decades and no one could make it work, but we had a vision and it is wonderful to see it finally come to life.”

“It hasn’t been easy, we have gone through a lot during the past year. We have had multiple shutdowns due to the pandemic with labour shortages, escalating material, construction and fuel costs plus wild weather, but we have still delivered on budget and program and now we are ready to top-out.”
“This is a moment to reflect on the determination, hard work and planning to transform what has been a local ‘eyesore’ for such a long time into a vibrant new hub that will benefit the whole community.”
Situated on the corner of Hoxton Park Road and the Hume Highway, The Hoxton will be the second tallest residential tower in the Liverpool CBD standing over 110m tall.
Residents enjoy access to a rooftop garden with 360-degree views, as well as a ground-floor courtyard.
ALAND has celebrated reaching the highest point of construction by holding a ‘topping-out’ barbeque on the building’s rooftop.
Mr Tadrosse highlighted that this milestone is particularly important given the site’s extended dormancy.
“Topping-out is only half the battle in construction and while it is an exciting moment, we know that we have to keep our heads down until we finish the job.”
“It is, however, nice for both the workers and also the local community, as well as buyers, to be able to drive past and see the project nearing completion,” he said.
ALAND reports that the project is on track for residents to move in by the year’s end despite time lost due to Covid restrictions and wet weather.
