The 7th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) took place at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, showcasing the finest achievements in real estate development, design, and sustainability across the country.

The event hosted by PropertyGuru Group (NYSE:PGRU) and supported by Sub-Zero Wolf, brought together the nation’s leading developers, architects, and industry experts to celebrate innovation and excellence in the property sector.

Industry leaders praise Australia’s real estate sector

Reflecting on the high standards set by this year’s award recipients, Jules Kay, General Manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, stated, “From high-tech buildings to heritage landmarks, Australian real estate beautifully blends the old and the new… We take pride in recognising the forward-thinking, culturally attuned companies that have set a benchmark for quality and sustainability in the built environment.”

Celebrating Australia’s best developers

BHC Property stole the spotlight as they were named Best Developer for their contributions to the industry.

The firm’s Mercer project in Victoria also garnered the award for Best Luxury Townhouse Development (Victoria), cementing their status as a leader in luxury living solutions.

Polytec Australia was another standout winner, receiving the Best Boutique Developer title, with their Beauchamp Sydney project taking home Best Luxury Apartment Architectural Design (New South Wales).

Recognising sustainability in design

For the first time in the awards’ history, the Sustainable Design Award was introduced, and it was MRCB International who claimed the honour.

Their project, 26 Vista, was not only recognised for its eco-friendly design but also won Best Apartment Architectural Design, showcasing their dedication to creating greener, more sustainable living spaces.

Best apartment and townhouse developments

OSK Property’s BLVD was a major winner, taking home the coveted Best Apartment Development (Australia) award.

The project was also acknowledged for its focus on wellness and adaptability to modern work-life needs, winning Best Wellness Residential Development, Best Integrated Work from Home Development, and Best Apartment Interior Design.

In the townhouse sector, Hexa and IFD triumphed with their Lumina Townhomes, which were recognised as Best Townhouse Development (Australia) and Best Townhouse Development (Victoria).

Honouring heritage and retail excellence

The 2024 awards also put a spotlight on heritage restoration projects, with Blairgrove Group winning Best Heritage Development for the Leichhardt Hotel.

Their dedication to preserving historical properties also earned them Best Retail Development for The Burwood Chinatown and Best Retail Interior Design for The Grand Shanghai Hotel.

In addition, The Playford Adelaide – MGallery by Hachem Architecture Pty Ltd won Best Heritage Interior Design and Best Hotel Interior Design, highlighting the blending of history with luxury.

Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year

A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year award to Sydney Ma, Managing Director of Top Spring Australia.

His work in sustainable, community-focused developments has set a new standard in the industry.

Looking Forward to the Grand Final

The winners of this year’s PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) will go on to compete in the 19th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, which will be held on 13 December 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.

This prestigious international event will showcase the best projects from across Asia-Pacific.
