A brand-new golf academy is set to open early next year at Links Hope Island which is currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar revitalisation.

GH Australia, who owns the resort, seek to create a contemporary community that will feature the new golf course and academy alongside a luxury new land estate couple with a lifestyle precinct that will include a day spa.

GH Properties purchased Links Hope Island back in 2013 and Director Ellen Guan said the transformation underway at the resort is part of GH’ commitment to its Australian assets.

“We spent a number of years examining the current operations and planning the implementation of a range of new initiatives that will help preserve Hope Island Resort as one of Australia’s leading master planned communities,” said Ms Guan.

“We are very excited about the milestones ahead this year and the opening of the brand-new gold academy and gold course set to bring our vision for Links Hope Island to fruition.”

PGA advanced golf coach David Thomas will head the academy and he plans to introduce golf monitors such as Trackman and Flightscope on the range itself. This will be coupled with Mr Thomas’s own new self-designed covers which are an Australian-first.

They will be manufactured locally here in Australia.

Mr Thomas has been successful in implementing golf academies having done two recently in Germany.

The new golf academy set to open at the Links Hope Island resort as a one stop shop for coaching, it offers everything for the whole community and aims to make golf fun again,” said Mr Thomas.

“It offers significant game improvement for all golfers and will be home to every piece of technology to help visitors to achieve their goals,”

“The friendly atmosphere and quality of the golf club will help the academy will bring the local community together. For me as a PGA member, the academy brings people together and is the top of the cake in the resort revitalisation.”
