As announced last week, the Property Council has appointed Ms Rebecca Ellston as its Executive Director for Tasmania. Her first day on the job was yesterday.
Ms Ellston has previously worked as senior media adviser to the Tasmanian Premier, as well as advisory roles within the Attorney-General of Tasmania’s Office and prior to this had been the State Political Reporter for WIN News.
“We are thrilled that a such an experienced communications professional and passionate advocate for Tasmania as Rebecca will be joining the Property Council’s executive team at a time when the state is accelerating its social and economic recovery,” Property Council Chief Executive Mr Morrison said.
The Property Council of Australia is an Australian lobby group representing property developers and property owners. It was formed as the Building Owners and Managers’ Association of Australia in the mid 1960’s, and assumed its current name in 1996.
“The entire country continues to face unprecedented challenges as we begin to recover from the pandemic, and I intend to be a strong voice for Tasmania and the role this industry can play in the state’s recovery strategy.” Ms Ellston said.
“I look forward to working with members, stakeholders and across all levels of government to ensure that the industry continues to boost business confidence, drive investment and support jobs as we work together to rebuild.”
