- Amid Covid outbreak and lockdowns, REINSW organised the first recognition day in 2020
A special day, in honour of property managers, last Friday (23 July) – was National Property Managers Day.
On this day, many department heads, agencies, suppliers, and Real Estate Institutes across the country showed their support and appreciation for what their property managers do for landlords and lessees every day.
Covid initiative
The industry gave special acknowledgement for property managers’ efforts over the last 16 months during the Covid-19 crisis. Many residential, retail, and commercial property managers had to think outside of the box, forget about the rules and terms they usually go by, put lease agreements aside, and be flexible and sympathetic to all stakeholders involved in property management transactions.
Many property managers shared their knowledge of the specially Covid-19 introduced rules and regulations to get all of us on the other side of Covid-19.
Last year REINSW started the initiative, and after a great success, the institute repeated its initiative this year, and this time REIA endorsed it.
“After the resounding success of National Property Managers Day last year, REINSW is organising another day of celebration on 23 July 2021,” said REINSW on their website.
“REINSW recognises the sterling efforts that residential and commercial property managers everywhere have put in during the past 16 months since the COVID-19 pandemic began and especially in light of the recent resurgence in Greater Sydney, Regional NSW as well as in our other States across Australia.
“We acknowledge how the whole real estate industry has come together and worked so hard throughout this long crisis, but we also recognise how Property Managers have really gone above and beyond in their duties.”
There are 2.7 million rentals across Australia, 80% of which are managed by property managers, and two-thirds of these managers are women.
“As lockdowns continue to wreak havoc around the country, the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) is celebrating National Property Managers Day today, an initiative originally put together by the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW)”, as The Property Tribune reported on Friday.
Realestate.com.au published a video on their YouTube channel showing their support and gratitude to all the property managers in Australia.
Cirrus8, a commercial property management cloud-based software company, shared their support on their LinkedIn channel, and so many others in the industry did likewise.
There has been an overwhelming amount of recognition from suppliers, agencies, department heads, fellow property managers, and institutes across the country, and I believe I speak for all of us when I say, “thank you, Australia, it is our pleasure to assist you during these challenging times.”
