Multiplex and Macquarie Developments Group (MDG) have announced they are joining forces to help develop Assana, a new 52 storey luxury apartment building in Broadbeach.

Upon completion, the tower will be the tallest in the Broadbeach area, and among the highest in the Gold Coast area.

Sydney-based MDG was granted approval last month to build the tower with Multiplex announcing it had signed an Early Contractor Involvement agreement earlier in the week.

Peter Galvin, CEO and Head of Development and Construction at MDG, said the team had been working closely alongside from Multiplex ever since the design phase, making sure their engineering and buildability considerations were taken into account.

“When everyone is invested in the project early on, you get a much better result. That pride drives us all to go the extra mile to provide something that is unique for the buyers,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with a company of Multiplex’s stature to build a relationship that will not only carry us through this project, but future developments as well.”

The project will eclipse the 50-storey The Oracle Beach Tower as the tallest building in Broadbeach with views of the Pacific Ocean, Nerang River, cityscape and hinterland.

The waterfall-esqe designed tower will deliver 146 luxury apartments offering floor plans that exceed any other off-the-plan dwellings in Broadbeach.

Graham Cottam, Multiplex Regional Managing Director, said the team is looking forward to working with the team at Macquarie to build the landmark project.

“Assana will be a striking addition to the Gold Coast skyline and we are delighted to be partnering with MDG to bring it to life, “ he said.

Final planning will continue until February 2022 when a formal construction contract is likely to be awarded. Onsite works are then due to commence by May 2022.

“We can safely go to market with the confidence of having one of Australia’s most reputable builders on board,” said Mr Galvin.

“That, in turn, gives buyers confidence in our ability to deliver what we’ve promised within the timeframe they expect.

“Throughout the process we have left no stone unturned, we have made it a priority to only work with industry leaders and you can see that from the impressive list of consultants currently working on the project.
