Ever wanted to own a whole town? Well, here is a chance – just like the Rose family in Schitt’s Creek.
The small Victorian town of Coopers Creek is offering a buyer the opportunity to purchase the entire town, including a historical pub.
Set on 11 acres on the Thomson River, Coopers Creek was previously a mining township that was settled during the Victorian gold rush in the 1800s, and at its peak was home to 250 people.
The Holyoak family purchased the property bit by bit from the 1960s.
Currently, the town consists of 21 lots ranging in size from 660 square metre lot over 12,000sqm. This includes the fully equipped pub with pool room, dining area, stage, open fireplaces and a commercial kitchen.
The sale also includes a two-bedroom home with a veranda.
Mason White McDougall Director Ian Mason said that given the uniqueness of the asset, it is hard to put a price on the entire town. It is expected to sell for around $2.5 to $3 million, about the same price as a single house in Kew or Hawthorn.
