Global construction company Multiplex has announced that the first stage of OSK Property’s $2.8 billion mixed-use development – Melbourne Square – has been completed.
Bordered by Power, Kavanagh and Balston Streets in Southbank, Melbourne Square is on track to become one of the largest mixed-use precincts in Melbourne, featuring six towers that range from 38 to 73 storeys.
The $490 million first stage consists of two residential towers of 54 and 69 levels, consisting of 1,043 apartments.
Four of these towers will be residential that will deliver over 2,610 apartments alongside a 621-room hotel and a commercial office space tower covering 52,000 square metres.
Cox is designing the residential towers featuring pleated facades that maximise views and natural light. These towers also share a terraced eight-level podium that provides over 3,700 square metres of public landscaped parklands and a retail precinct.

Since construction commenced in November 2017, 2,926 workers have worked on the site with 51,000 cubic metres of concrete used to deliver stage one.
Notably, 13,642 glass panels were used in the exterior design. Levels 8 and 54 consist of extensive gymnasiums featuring premium equipment and machinery along with a 48-metre lap pool.
Once completed, amenities will include a retail centre, childcare centre, dining precinct and extensive public parklands which cascading water features and piazzas.
